At Tropical Salon we are open seven days a week, however Sundays is probably one of our slow days!
To our surprise we got busy with two Girls from India, that needed a hair-job.
Akiko our Japanese Stylist, started with one of them, who needed to bleach some of her roots and also wanted to change her color, plus a totally new haircut!
While speaking to the other girl, I learned that our customer in the chair with Akiko, was no other than HardKaur, India's No. 1 Rapper and currently famous for a lot of hits. We started playing her youtube videos and while getting her foils and colors she was singing and rapping along with her songs, sipping some white wine!
Before becoming a fulltime rapper, she was a stylist and threader, funny coincidence that our threader had her day off and a customer walked in for eyebrow threading. HardKaur walked over and asked for some yarn and started threading the customer.
It all was very funny, imagine headlines in an India Gossip Magazine: ...famous rapper HardKaur spotted working as Master Threader @ Tropical Salon in the Lower East Side, New York, NY.
When finished she sported a cool look with some new ashy blond hair, ready for making another hit, before she left she signed some pictures for us!
